Al-Ansar is a Community Center and Mosque, so community is our number one priority.
Chaplains are those who care for their community and connect the people to the services of need and benefit. They bring:
- Hope in times of despair
- Love in the times of hate
- Peace in the times of terror
- Order in the times of chaos and
- A shoulder to lean on at the time of loss
Our Chaplains are religious individuals who respect the privacy of all people and are trained to serve all people.
Currently, we organize Chai with Chaplains at Al-Ansar Center on a monthly basis to discuss the problems within the community and more importantly their solutions.
Some of the widespread problems that we discuss are:
- Domestic Violence
- Spousal Abuse
- Child Abuse
- Elder Abuse & Neglect
- Sexual Abuse
- Drug Addiction and Abuse
- Alcohol Addiction and Abuse
- Depression and Anxiety
- Mental Illnesses
- And others…
We not only discuss these problems, but also organize workshops to raise awareness and connect people to professional help and resources to get the help they need.
We work very closely with the following partner organizations to deliver Chaplaincy Services:
- Muslim Chaplaincy Services of New York (MCSNY)
- Muslims Giving Back (MGB)
- Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA)
